How many houses have you lived in? How is where you live now different from where you grew up?
This question is somewhat bogus.
What are we talking about here, really? Are we going by number of "dwellings" I have lived in? Are we strictly going by houses? Is a townhouse a house? What about an attic mother-in-law apartment inside of a house?
Well, how about this: my total number of places I have dwelled in, by my count is roughly ...
29
The breakdown is as follows:
Houses - 10
Townhouses - 7
Apartments - 8
Others - 4
(others include a lab, a study room in a library, my car, and a shed).
The longest I have ever resided in one spot is 3.5 years. During high-school.
This is why home is an interesting concept for me. Where the heart is, has a difinitively different meaning for me. Because I dont have a "real" home. Never have. Its all about where feels right, and who is there.
I keep telling you I am a wanderlusty vagabond!
How many pair of shoes do you have? Out of those pairs, how many do you wear more than a few times a year?
Submitted by fightinggale.
Haha. Im not really much of a guy in this regard.
My current count is 19 pairs of shoes. To be fair, 3 pairs are strictly dance shoes (suede soles), so I never wear them on the street. I also currently have my eye on 5 more pairs of street shoes, and 3 more pairs of dance shoes.
I wear about 9 different pairs more than a few times a year. And on any given day, I usually wear 3-4 different pairs of shoes.

If you could go back and change one thing you've done in your life, what would it be?
Submitted by Devinoid.
Nothing. I try hard to approach life from this angle: "Never regret anything you have done, only the things you havent done. And remember that whenever you feel skittish about doing something."
But, lets change it to get a different answer. Take the word "could" and sit it on the bench. Substitute in "were forced to". The answer to the new question is this:
Stop dancing 2 years ago. It was a shame to have dated women who would not dance with me, or could not handle me dancing with other women. This is what most people would probably call a Red Flag.
Oops. Live and Learn. I did what my heart told me was the best possible thing. So it was good.
But I cant even imagine how much better I would be right now if I hadnt stopped.
When you get to work on Monday mornings, what is the first thing you do when you turn on your computer?
Well, first of all, I never turn off my computer at work unless I absolutely have to.
Then my first task is to check work email, naturally. Its slow right now, but in the crazy times I can get as many as 100 emails "To Me" (Where I am in the To or CC fields) per day. So I have to keep on top of it or people are getting pissed.
What do you think is your best physical attribute?
Submitted by Nacwolin.
Heh. Okay.
Look - I know where I stand. Im not a great looking guy, but Im not hideous either. Im about average, overall. (I make up for it with character :))
But I think I have a few really good physical attributes.
At one point in time I would have said hair and eyes too. But my hair aint what it used to be. And my eye sockets tend to have a sleepy or tired look to them nowadays, which distracts from my blue-greens. I think there is a really long story behind that.1) Triceps. Mine are pretty nice. And powerful for my size. This made me really good at spiking volleyballs. If I were taller or had mass hops, I would have considered pursuing a volleyball career. :)
2) Hands. I play bass, so I have strong but dexterous hands. Long flexible fingers. I can give a great massage.
3) Lips. By far my best feature. I get a lot of compliments on the fullness and softness of them. I am apparently a really good kisser.
;)
Which one of your ancestors would you most like to talk to?
Submitted by Kathy.
Always threes. Always.
First. I would like to talk to my Grandpa. I barely knew him - cause he died when I was so young. All I have is whatever pictures survived the fire. And a few memories of nobody letting me see him right before he died. (His body reacted poorly to the chemo, and he turned severely purple, Im told).
Second. I would like to talk to my Grandma. So I could tell her to kick her sons ass. And so I could tell her that I am trying to let her spirit live on through me. All of my memories of her inspire me. How she lit up a room with her presence. Her positivity. Her kindness. Her joviality. Her stories and jokes. She is my hero.
Finally. I would like to meet whatever ancestor it is that first came over here from the Old World. The one who stowed away on a ship, arrived in the new world, stole somebodys identity, and then joined the traveling circus. I bet that dude has a lot of great stories!
What do you do with the cards and letters you receive? Do you keep them all, just keep the photos, throw them away?
Inspired by jacolily.
I save all cards and letters.
I consider them one of the few things that absolutely must survive all of my moves. I have quite a few that have been packed up and hauled to a new "home" over 12 times.
Letters and cards are extremely important to me. So much in fact, that I have gotten into arguments with Significant Others about them. I dont care if its a small thank you, or a large expression of feelings ... its the thought and effort that make them invaluable.
What are five words you really like?
Submitted by purplesque.
Aww. Do I have to just pick five?!
Im in love with words, and playing around with them. Odd phrasings. Timing. I guess I just really love language.
Here are 5 off the top of my head:
hyperbole, sassmouthery, onomonopoetic, anthropomorphization, fuck.
(oh come on, you just knew that last one had to make the list!)
Have you ever backed out on doing something you promised you'd do? Did you have a good reason for going back on your word?
Submitted by enSue.
Not in my life. Nope.
I do not take promises lightly. If I even suspect there is a slight chance that I cannot make it happen, I will not promise it. Plain and simple.
I know this aggravates some people. Because I have been asked to promise something, and I will decline and offer up a slightly different promise. And sometimes people just want reassurance. Perhaps even if its false reassurance.
But to me, I am only as good as my word. And my promises are the penultimate example of it.
What was your major or field of study in college? Did you wind up working in that field or using that degree? If not, what field have you wound up in?
Submitted by sneuf.
Computer Science. Emphasis on Graphics (and animation).
I was originally going to try for a triple degree: CompSci, Architecture, and Psychology.
But then I realized I was crazy. And tired of school.
I was ]this[ close to starting a new animation production studio. But California flaked out on us and took to long - I was broke and hungry. I dont each much, but I know I have to.
